There is no cure for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. However the lesions and warts caused by the HPV viruses can be treated. Treatment options for HPV include:

• Cryosurgery: freezing the lesion and warts to destroy the effected tissue
• LEEP: loop electrosurgical excision procedure which removes the effected tissue using a hot wire loop
• Surgery: surgically removing the warts
• Various drug treatments
