The risks of dermabrasion
Dermabrasion uses a high-speed tool to scrape off the outer skin layers. It is often performed under local or general anesthesia. The procedure may cause spotty bleeding around the treated area. Some risks of dermabrasion include:
- Pain or itching
- Scarring may result if skin removal is too deep
- Infection from bacteria or viruses
